Both directors will be in attendance at the festival, not only to accept this prestigious honor but also to lead masterclasses, where they will share their valuable insights with fellow filmmakers and enthusiasts.
Mani Ratnam, renowned in the world of South Asian cinema, will be the recipient of the Excellence in Cinema Award for South Asia. The festival will showcase screenings of his recent works, including ‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part One and Two.’ Additionally, Luca Guadagnino’s acclaimed film, ‘I am Love,’ which garnered a Golden Globe nomination, will also be featured.
The MAMI Excellence in Cinema award pays tribute to individuals who have left an indelible mark on the cinematic landscape. Previous recipients of this prestigious accolade include notable figures such as Darren Aronofsky, Sharmila Tagore, Fernando Meirelles, and Chen Kaige.
