Lokesh Kanagaraj injured in stampede

The highly-anticipated film “Leo,” starring the magnetic Thalapathy Vijay and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has taken Kerala by storm, setting impressive box office records on its opening day. The director had planned a Kerala Success Meet to celebrate this remarkable achievement, but an unfortunate incident during his Kerala visit led to an injury and the postponement of scheduled events.

Originally, Kanagaraj had intended to hold a press conference in Kochi and visit a local theater, but these plans were temporarily put on hold. Nonetheless, an enormous crowd gathered at Palakkad Kavita Theater in the hope of catching a glimpse of the director. Tragically, a stampede ensued as enthusiastic fans tried to get closer, necessitating police intervention.

Due to a leg injury sustained during the incident, Kanagaraj regretfully had to cancel his plans to visit Thrissur Ragam Theater and Kochi Kavita Theater. He expressed his gratitude to the people of Kerala, explaining that a minor injury prevented him from reaching the other venues and attending the press conference. He assured his fans that he would return to meet them in Kerala soon.

Taking to his social media account, Lokesh Kanagaraj wrote, “Thank you, Kerala, for your love. I am overwhelmed, happy, and grateful to see you all in Palakkad. Due to a minor injury in the crowd, I couldn’t make it to the other two venues and the press conference. I will certainly come back to meet you all in Kerala again soon. Until then, continue enjoying #Leo with the same love.”

This incident underscores the passionate fan base and the tremendous success of “Leo” in Kerala.
