It has been a long time since Sudheer Babu failed to score a hit at the box office. His track record has been such that. His Maama Mascheendra has been released in theatres today. If you liked the trailer and want to know what the film is about, here you go!

Plot: Sudheer Babu (Parasuram) becomes a stone-hearted person due to his bad childhood. He doesn’t mind killing his own family members for the sake of their property. Parasuram tells Harsha Vardhan to kill the younger sister’s family, but they manage to escape.

After a couple of years, Vishalaxmi (Eesha Rebha) falls in love with Durga (Sudheer Babu). Meenakshi’s daughter falls in love with the famous DJ (Sudheer Babu). Parasuram assumes that their nephew is born like him to take revenge on him. Are his fears justified? Who tried to kill him? Parasuram and Dasu maintain one secret from their daughters. What is that secret? Why do they hide from their daughters? That’s what the second half is about.

Performances: Sudheer Babu tried something new by performing three characters simultaneously. He doesn’t look good in any of the three roles. Actually, he looks pathetic in the old man’s look. The dubbing is also laughable.

Eesha Rebba and Mirnalini Ravi looked routine. There is nothing new to talk about their performance. Harsha Vardhan impressed everyone with his acting and writing. Rajeev Kanakala, Hari Teja and Ajay gave their best in the film.

Analysis: Sudheer Babu has a habit of showcasing a ripped body in his movies. It would have been nice if Sudheer Babu did a good amount of work for his old man’s role. Director Harsha Vardhan failed to execute the film by making proper use of the actor’s image.Maama Mascheendra goes on a dull note from beginning to end.

The film has music by Chaitan Bharadwaj. The background score is also found wanting in many places. The characters played by Ali Reza and Hari Teja are borderline comical. There is no excitement in the way twists are revealed in the second half.

The climax is tiring and melodramatic. The writing department should have written the love tracks with greater care. It takes nothing to write scenes involving a DJ and an urban chic woman. But the potential has been wasted. As a result, the script falls flat.

Verdict: Watch it at your own risk. It is another big flop in Sudheer Babu’s career despite the three roles and the comedy quotient on display.
