Box office emperor Thalapathy Vijay joined forces with sensational filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for the action drama, Leo. The film has been making noise right since its announcement, and its hype reached unprecedented levels now. The advance bookings have indicated that Leo will create a pandemonium at the ticket windows. Let’s see if this much-hyped film lived up to the expectations or not.
Plot: “Nelakonda Bhagavanth Kesari” (played by Balakrishna) motivates Vijaya Lakshmi, also known as Viji (portrayed by Sreeleela), to cultivate strength and valor, hoping she’ll contemplate joining the Indian Army. Yet, Viji doesn’t share his fervor for this path. Concurrently, Rahul Sanghvi (played by Arjun Rampal) fervently pursues Viji. What fuels Rahul’s pursuit of Viji? Is there a connection between Bhagavanth Kesari and Viji? Did Bhagavanth previously associate with Rahul Sanghvi? Did Viji ultimately choose the military path? All these riveting questions unravel within the movie
Thumbs Up:
- Heartfelt narrative.
- Compelling performances.
- Memorable mass and punch dialogues.
- Endearing characters.
- Anil Ravipudi adeptly merges mass elements with emotional drama.
- Thaman’s musical score amplifies action and emotional sequences
Thumbs Down:
- The plot’s predictability and lack of depth.
- The second half’s writing could have been more engaging to sustain audience interest.
- Kajal Aggarwal’s role contributes little to the movie, and her scenes with Balakrishna lack impact
Analysis: Anil Ravipudi admirably tailors Balakrishna’s role to his age, but the film could have benefitted significantly from a more substantial focus on story and screenplay in the second half.
Thaman’s score shines in elevating emotional and action sequences. Editing and cinematography are commendable, with satisfactory production values.
Verdict: In Summary, “Bhagavanth Kesari” offers an engaging blend of action and emotional drama, fueled by outstanding performances from Balakrishna and Sreeleela
MovieMoghal Rating: 3/5
